Add ProQuest Resources from a Canvas Module

Link to a ProQuest Resource (article/ebook) starting from a Canvas Module

  1. Open Canvas and go to a module (or create a new module)
  2. Select the + icon in the module heading
  3. In the Add drop-down menu, select External Tool
  4. n the External Tool menu, Select ProQuest Resources

  1. Search for an article/ebook (or another resource) in the ProQuest database(s). If looking for a known item search the article title. All ProQuest databases are searched by default. TIP: To get rid of newspaper articles/wire services results, check box for Peer reviewed.

  1. Click on the title of any item you want to add
  2. On the next page, copy the article title, you’ll need this for a future step
  3. Click on Select this document from the top of the item description

  1. After the article is selected, scroll down in the Add Item window to see the page name and change "ProQuest Resources" to the article title
    • Select any indentation and "Load in a new tab" options
    • Click the Add Item button when you are finished

  1. Find the article in the Canvas Module menu and Publish it

  1. On the Canvas page, highlight the text you want to be a link to an article
  2. Under the Tools menu, select ProQuest Resources

  1. Search for an article/ebook (or another resource) in the ProQuest database(s). If looking for a known item, paste in the article title. All ProQuest databases are searched by default. TIP: To get rid of newspaper articles/wire services results, check box for Peer reviewed.
  2. Click on the title of any item you want to add
  3. Click on Select this document from the top of the item description

  1. Link will appear in the highlighted text on the Canvas page
