Magazine Advertising Rates

Use SRDS Media Solutions to locate the cost of placing an advertisement in a magazine. Follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Step 1

Select Print > Consumer Magazines from the top navigation bar in SRDS Media Solutions (linked at the top of the page).

Step 2

On the Consumer Magazine page, choose Select Consumer Classes on the far left side of the screen. Choose one or more consumer classes that represent the consumers of your brand or company. Consumer class refers to groupings based on consumer interests. Examples include Automotive, Fashion, Health, Gaming, etc. You may select as many consumer classes as applicable. Click Apply once you've made your selections.

Step 3

After selecting your consumer classes, browse the results and choose a magazine that would be a good fit for your brand and its consumers. Please note that not all magazines will have the same data available. Magazines with higher circulation numbers or larger/more well-known titles will often have more data available to you. Keep this in mind as you search and select your magazine.

Step 4

Once you have selected a magazine, use the tabs to find the information you need about the publication and its readers.

  • Contacts & Reps: Contact information for the magazine.
  • Media Kit: A promotional tool that showcases the publication, circulation numbers, demographics of readers, advertisement prices, and more. Check the General Information tab to see if a media kit link is provided if there is not a separate media kit tab. It can be a place to look for ad rates if rates are not provided in the Rates & Policies tab.
  • Circulation & Audience: Provides circulation or subscription numbers for the publication, and potentially some basic demographics about their readers. See example below.
  • Rates & Policies: Cost to place an advertisement in the magazine. Depending on the title, both black & white and color rates are available. Some titles only display rates for one page while others allow for smaller ads, such as 1/2 or 1/4 pages. 1 ti refers to the cost to place the advertisement for one total issue of the publication. See example below.
  • Issues & Specs: Publication frequency and dates. Some publications offer more information about the ad dimensions.
