Borrowable Technology for STEM Education

This guide features technology available at Andersen Library. While these resources support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, all Andersen Library patrons are encouraged to explore, try out, experiment, create and learn.

OSMO for iPad

What Is It? Osmo is an interactive, hands on set of iPad games. OSMO includes a stand with a red plastic piece that redirects the iPad’s front-facing camera to the game pieces as a child interacts with them on a table or floor. Choose from game sets that include:

  • Letters
  • Numbers
  • Tanagrams
  • Coding Jam: Getting Started Sheet
  • Pizza Company
  • OSMO Projector with Zoom: a tool to help with remote teaching. Working directly off your iPad tablet, Projector lets you take physical notes, and share video with anyone who has joined you through Apple AirPlay, Skype, and Zoom to share digital lessons in real-time.

Ages: 5-12

Where Is It? Locate OSMO sets in the Teaching Tools collection on the second floor of Andersen Library:

Check Research@UWW for current availability.

Required Apps or Computer Programs: Before you can use the OSMO sets, you'll need to download the free apps to your iPad, or check out Library iPads.
