You generally cannot find profiles of nonprofit organizations in the same places you find profiles for companies.

However, several other sites are good for nonprofit research:

Charity Navigator
This organization was founded in 2001 and conducts evaluations of charities, specifically their financial health and their accountability and transparency.

Charity Watch
Charity Watch provides rankings and publishes news about nonprofit organizations. Click the "Top Rated Charities" link at the top to get a list of "competitors" for medical nonprofits.
Note: Most information on Charity Watch is available to members only.
Guidestar
Another good source for nonprofit profiles, including several years of each nonprofit's 990 forms. These are the forms they must all file with the IRS, detailing things like donations from different sources and operating expenses.
IRS's Tax Exempt Organization Search
This tool helps verify an organization's eligibility to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions, and review information about the organization's tax-exempt status and filings.
