Tips to Write Your Paper

The following are tips to ensure that your writing is clear and coherent, and your paper has a logical flow:

  • Take the time to develop each point limiting one idea to a paragraph. Don't discuss 2-3 points in one paragraph.
  • Use transition words to smoothly move from one idea to the next.
  • If you are making any claims that aren't common knowledge, be sure to cite all your sources.
  • Check for tone to see if your paper sounds professional and the vocabulary is audience appropriate.
  • Check your word choices and meanings. Is what you're saying what you really mean?
