AAC&U VALUE Rubric

As part of the Valid Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education (VALUE) project, teams of faculty and other academic and student affairs professionals engaged in an iterative process wherein they gathered, analyzed, synthesized, and then drafted institutional level rubrics for 15 of the Association of American Colleges & Universities' Essential Learning Outcomes, creating VALUE rubrics including the information literacy one below. Each VALUE rubric contains the most common and broadly shared criteria or core characteristics considered critical for judging the quality of student work in that outcome area. Information Literacy VALUE Rubric (AAC&U)

UW-W Rubrics

During the 2011-2012 academic year the Andersen Library at UW-Whitewater created several information literacy rubrics specific to the University. The below documents are the latest versions.

Information Literacy Progression Rubric
based on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and the campus' General Education Learning Outcomes. It identifies three levels that students should progress through during their undergraduate education. It is hoped that students will attain the Accomplished level by the time they graduate.
Information Literacy Rubric - English 102
based on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and the campus' General Education Learning Outcomes. Addresses concepts covered during typical English 102 library instruction. It identifies three levels. It is hoped that students will attain the Competent level by the end of the year they take English 102.
Information Literacy Rubric - Library Discovery Activity
based on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and the campus' General Education Learning Outcomes. This rubric identifies three levels that students can attain through participating in the new student seminar (NSS) library activity. It is hoped that students will attain the Accomplished level by participating in the session.
LEAP Rubric: Source Selection Bibliographies
based on several different rubrics, it identifes four levels that students could attain when completing bibliographies/reference lists. It is hoped that students will increase their proficiency as their coursework progresses, until they reach Accomplished with capstone level class assignments.
