"The State of Wisconsin Blue Book remains the primary one-volume reference source about the state, documenting the organization of the state’s three branches of government....Typically, each volume includes extensive description and statistics on virtually all aspects of life in Wisconsin...." Published annually from 1879-1883 and then biennially since 1885 to the present.
(UW-Milwaukee) The American Geographical Society Library Digital Map Collection contains over 19,000 maps, ranging from early maps of Asia to historical maps of Wisconsin and Milwaukee, and other American cities, states, and national parks.

Examples of nearly every type of traditional cartographic medium can be found — from elaborate maps of Renaissance explorations to simple outline maps. These maps are an invaluable resource for researching the history of North American exploration, economic and social development, environmental change and genealogy.
This scanning project resulted in a digital archive of over 2,000 map images and metadata for Wisconsin dating back to the early 1900's. Just one year later the scanning project became a nationally-focused effort when USGS committed resources to building a digital U.S. archive of every topographic map ever printed across the country.
