Why Create an ORCID

ORCID -- Connecting Research and Researchers logo

Similar to a Google Scholar profile, an ORCID (Open Researcher & Contributor ID) helps to collect all of your research in one place:

  • Collates all the possible versions/ways your name might be written across different journals, funding agencies, schools, collaborators...
  • Can be connected to your Google Scholar profile, Web of Knowledge Researcher ID, Scopus Author ID, etc...
  • It's from a nonprofit, rather than being owned by Google

Register here: https://orcid.org/register

If you would like to link your ORCID to one of the other profile services, follow the directions here: https://researchguides.baylor.edu/orcid/
