Selecting Literature, Writing, & Film Materials

To determine whether the UW System has a particular item in print, follow these steps to check Research@UWW:

1. Go to the libraries homepage 
2. In the Research@UWW box change the drop down menu to "Books, Media and more (UW System)"
3. Type the book title in quotation marks and add the author name
   • "catcher in the rye" AND salinger
4. Click on the search button
5. For print items, you will see our campus, location and call number, but only the names of other UW campuses that have the item. UW System libraries as a group do not typically purchase more than three copies of a specific book. However, if you have special reasons for needing a copy of a print book at our campus, include a note about those when you submit your order request.
6. Results lists also include books you can borrow that are owned by libraries in our greater consortium. You will not see any UW system names in the item record for these. These do not count towards the 3 copy rule. They can be borrowed just like UW system books.
