How to Find Journal Articles: Interlibrary Loan, Copying, and Scanning

Interlibrary Loan Through ILLiad

If the Library does not have the article you need, you can request it for free through interlibrary loan using ILLiad. It usually takes 2-4 business days for articles to arrive online as PDFs. ILLiad is linked directly from the Get It tab in Research@UWW, whether searched directly or reached from a database using the Find It feature. It can also be accessed from My Accounts on the Library homepage.

To read more about interlibrary loan, refer to the How to Borrow from Other Libraries guide.

Copying & Scanning

Copyright law generally permits making single copies of articles for research purposes. Copyright law applies equally to photocopied and scanned materials. To find out more about copyright and fair use, please refer to the Library’s Copyright webpage.

Copies can be made by scanning articles, saving to a flash drive, then sending your scan to the printer.

Scanners are located on all floors of the Library. Students may print from them for free. Faculty, staff, students, and community members may also email and save easily from the touchscreen workstations.
