If the article you want is not available via Research@UWW or in the database you are searching you have several options for locating what you want elsewhere.
This video provides the basics for using Research@UWW to search all UW campus libraries' catalogs simultaneously and place requests to have books, videos, or government documents sent to Andersen Library's Circulation Desk or Lenox Library's service desk. Requested materials typically arrive in 3 weekdays. You must be signed in (with your UWW Net-ID) to place requests. Free service is available for all current UWW students, faculty, and staff.
Most databases have some full text articles and/or chapters in addition to citations. To access the full text there will be a button or text to click on that says something like: PDF, HTML, or Full Text.
When an article is not available in that database, use the button/link to determine whether and where the UWW libraries have it. One of several things will happen.
If you are in a database that doesn't provide the button/link, search Research@UWW for the article title and author last names to see if we have it elsewhere. The article record should come up. It will either provide a link to the full text or you will need to sign in to Get a Digital Copy via email.
Alternatively, search for the periodical (journal, magazine, newspaper, etc.) title using the Journals Search (linked from the libraries' homepage) to determine whether and where the Library has a particular periodical. If we have it for the date you need, use a provided link to the online periodical, then search or browse for the article.

Typical results lists contain items that are available at the click of a button or physically in a UW system library as well as items we do not have that may be borrowable.
To see whether an article, chapter, book, etc. is available look in the:
If you have a citation for something UWW does not have access to AND are not in a database or Research@UWW, use the Journals Search (linked from the libraries' homepage) to determine whether and where the Library has a particular periodical (journal, magazine, newspaper, etc.). If:

Have you found the citation for an article you want in another article's bibliography or on Google Scholar? You can use the libraries' Journals Search to see whether and where the Whitewater libraries has the periodical (journal, magazine, or newspaper) that the article came from. Start by typing the periodical title (not the article title) in the box below. This is also available from the libraries' homepage.
Watch this video to see how to use the Journals Search to locate a specific periodical (journal, magazine, or newspaper).
If the UWW library you use does not have the item you need currently available in physical format or online, current UWW faculty, staff, and students can request to get it from another library for free. The process is very similar whether you are looking for a book/entire physical item or a PDF of an article/book chapter. Items requested through Interlibrary Loan generally arrive within 3 weekdays.
The easiest way to request an item not immediately available is through Research@UWW. Most article databases link to it when needed, but you can also access it right on the library homepage. Start by searching for the item you want, select its title, log in, and then make your request.
