Step-by-Step

This page has step-by-step instructions for accessing art and design library databases. For your Wikipedia assignment, you may also be using history, literature, or other databases to find articles. Look for a different subject in step 2, then an appropriate database in step 3, and then continue following the steps as written.

  • Steps 1-4 are the same no matter which database you use.
  • Step 3, choose the database (collection of similar sources) most relevant to your task. Here we selected ArtStor, however, you should choose the database most relevant to your specific research task. Chances are what you want is a Best Bet, so check those first before scanning down the list of Art & Design focused databases.
  • Steps 5-8, you will likely see some differences between ArtStor and the database you chose, however, basic use of each databases is very similar.

If you have questions, ask a librarian for help in the library, by phone (voice or text), by email, or via chat.
