Art Education (PreK-12)

The following are a few samples of key journals in art education to which UWW subscribes or has full-text access through various databases. Use this page to familiarize yourself with key journals in the field and to browse issues. 

Use the Journals search on the Libraries home page to locate more journals.

Use Interlibrary Loan to access journal articles to which UWW does not have full-text access in print or online.

Search many journals at one time by using any of the research databases below.

Here is an example search to get started:

1. Start with:  ERIC (via EBSCOhost)
2. Tap Choose Databases link above the search bar
3. Check the boxes for all education-related databases, including ERIC and Academic Search Complete. Tap OK
4. Tap Advanced search 
5. Enter the search as pictured above, with
   • in the top box, type: "art education" on the top line, choosing Subject in the field dropdown menu
   • in the second box, type: "content area reading" OR literacy OR "language arts" OR reading 
     • You may also find it helpful to choose Subject in the field dropdown menu in the second box.
6. Use the filters at the left of results to limit by date and publication type (journal articles or books)

Your results may look something like the example search, but it is recommended that you try to reconstruct the search on your own.
