primary source is a document or physical object which was written or created during the time of the event or issue being studied. For the purpose of this course assignment, the primary documents will likely be the original text of the policy, law or administrative code, legal case, or legislative hearing. You will find these in government documents in the library, or on government (.gov) websites.
